“How can we not say 'obese children'? Is that not politically correct?" Tom questioned.

Sarah Le Brocq, founder and director of All About Obesity, defended the language, arguing that obesity should be viewed as a long-term medical condition.

“It's because they're living with a chronic condition. They're not obese. It would be the same as calling someone cancerous. We would never say that's a cancerous person.

“So using the word 'obese' is the same thing. They're living with a condition. They're not the condition.”

Tom replied: “I understand that to an extent, although obviously cancer is not something that you bring about on yourself.”

Ms Le Brocq pushed back, responding: “Sometimes neither is obesity.”

“Sometimes it is,” the GB News host fired back.

“No, it absolutely isn't,” the campaigner returned.
