Homemaking mogul Martha Stewart is leaving the country - but there's a good reason why.

Stewart, 83, is going to Rome, Italy to celebrate Thanksgiving with her grandchildren, and thankfully will be returning stateside soon.

'We decided the kids wanted to go away, the grandchildren, and so we're all packing up and going to Rome for a few days to visit the sites,' Stewart recently revealed to People.

Stewart has two grandchildren, granddaughter Jude, 13, and grandson Truman, 12, who are the children of her only daughter, Alexis.

And, of course, the Martha Stewart CBD founder has a fabulous trip planned for her family.

In fact, it's so jam-packed that Stewart joked her grandchildren might get 'mad' at her.

'We have such an itinerary,' Stewart told the outlet.

'My grandchildren will get mad at me. They think they're going on vacation for five days, but in fact, we are going to see everything. I've planned quite a trip.'

However, although she will be out of the country during Thanksgiving, the Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia founder is planning to get right back to holiday hosting once she lands back home.

And, she told People that it's important to have one specific treat out for guests who come over to your home during the holiday season.

'If somebody comes over in the afternoon, you have to have homemade Christmas cookies lying around,' Stewart said.

'You just have to, and you have to have a couple dinners for your family and friends,' she continued.

She also admitted that there was 'no time' for arguments among family during this time.

Instead, she likes to keep thinks 'light-hearted.'

'I think the holidays are sort of the time when people come to see you and exchange presents and have a little fun,' Stewart told the outlet.

'I try to keep it very light-hearted and pleasant around the holidays. Family arguments, there's no place for that at the holiday time.'

The businesswoman's interview with the magazine comes just days after she made headlines for her awkward appearance on The Drew Barrymore show.

Stewart was a guest on the show last Tuesday, but the interview went slightly off topic when Drew, 49, bit her finger and playfully asked the mogul: 'What makes you soft and gooey?'

Eventually, Stewart replied: 'Soft and gooey treatment.'

'Soft and gooey treatment?' mom-of-two Drew repeated, as she proceeded to start caressing her guest's arm. 'When you're treated like a lady?'

'It's nice,' Stewart confirmed.

'When someone comes in…' Drew continued, but before she could complete her sentence Stewart batted her away while declaring 'you're the wrong gender!'

'I know, I know,' the E.T. actress relented as she dramatically fell back on the sofa.

'Although, the way it's going with men though, Martha, I'm not so sure anymore.'
