Why the Dow Is Falling When the S&P 500 Is Rising
The Dow was trailing behind the S&P 500 and Nasdaq Composite again on Friday due to another slide in UnitedHealth Group shares.
With the Dow down 28 points, or 0.1%, the S&P 500 was up 0.2%. The Nasdaq Composite was up 0.6%. Unlike the S&P and Nasdaq, the Dow is a ways away from a record closing high.
UnitedHealth was a big reason why. Shares of the healthcare giant were down another 5% on Friday. That means UnitedHealth is shaving 178 points off the Dow on its own today.
