Democrats are letting America down: With no real platform, no positions, no leadership and no prospects, they are derelict in their duty to provide a valiant opposition to the GOP.
As stunning as the total collapse of the Democratic Party has been to behold, it has also been unnerving.
Non-hyper-partisan Americans expect some equilibrium between the parties, not to see one political faction go straight off a cliff.
Democrats have no direction. Instead of making deals, they hold up traffic.
Chuck Schumer threatens a government shutdown rather than pass the spending bill the House sent his way.
Jasmine Crockett’s out there cursing a blue streak.
AOC’s telling illegal immigrants how to avoid la migra.
Liz Warren keeps nattering on about Elon Musk.
None of this is captaincy or cohesive opposition. Electeds and their media cronies are pulling plays from their same tired game plan that failed them and failed the rest of us.
The United States has a two-party political system; many would like to see three. But the Democrats have managed to knock it down to just one.
Instead of bringing fresh talent, new ideas, rational arguments or any alternative to Americans, they are content to rend their garments and scream lamentations, without putting up any real contrast to the ruling regime.
Our entire governmental system is based on checks and balances, but the Dems are letting themselves be knocked around like the sad emo kid in a PE dodgeball game.
When you’re not the party in charge you’re supposed to make some compromises, work with the other side — but they’re doing nothing except voting “no.”
They’re sticking to their guns on positions that most of America thinks are absurd — like this wacky idea that men should play women’s sports, or that kids should undergo medical sex changes, or that abortion should have no limits, or that our national borders should be porous.
Americans are mostly not on board with that stuff, so why are the Democrats still trying to sell it?
Are they trying to prove they have a moral framework despite its total degeneracy?
They just look recalcitrant and out of touch, fully deserving of the “elitist” insult that’s often thrown their way. The rest of us have no more time for their luxury beliefs.
If they want to have a credible voice any time soon, Democrats must present a mature opposition — not just for their own survival as a political party, but for the good of the American people.
Democrats must provide a realistic check on Republican power. Historically, that’s the job of the loyal opposition.
They need to offer a balance to moderate the majority’s immoderate ideas.
Mass deportations? Okay, but find a carve-out for Dreamers.
Canadian trade war? Go for it, but respect their national sovereignty.
Slashing federal bloat? Great plan, but protect key areas of agencies on the chopping block to ensure essentials don’t disappear, too.
That means they have to stop looking like crazy people.
No more backing of Hamas-aligned student protesters — freedom of speech, for sure, but we can still condemn what they say.
Stop it already with suing Trump over his demand that women’s sports be women-only — men are obviously not women.
It’s time to make deals on border security. Trump said he’s on board with “doing something” for Dreamers, but Dems, you’re gonna blow it if you keep saying it’s not illegal to illegally cross the border.
Stop making yourselves look like modern-day proponents of slavery by saying we need illegal immigrants to work crappy jobs for bad pay.
Give up the nonsense, get some perspective, regain some credibility.
Here’s what Democrats have got to do to stop themselves from playing the incompetent fool: Find a party leader, just one, who doesn’t think fellas should be in women’s prisons, who’s got a healthy love of America with an equally healthy distrust of absolute executive power.
Start caring about America more than you care about the rest of the world.
Democrats don’t have to listen to me. After all, I left the party in 2020 when its commitment to censorship, cancelling, violent and pointless civil unrest, antiracism and a rejection of biological reality got to be just too much for me.
But they must at least listen to the American people — who crave a common-sense, rational balance of power at every level of government.
