The Hawaii engineer whose doctor husband allegedly tried to murder her while hiking a scenic cliff has accused him of sexually abusing her for months before the attack, according to a report.

Arielle Konig, 36, claims in a restraining order that her husband, Gerhardt Konig, 46, sexually abused and assaulted her for months before trying to push her off the Pali Lookout, a famous panoramic vista on Oahu, on March 24, PEOPLE reported.

Arielle, a renowned nuclear engineer, said her husband accused her of having an affair and had “extreme jealousy,” she wrote in the petition filed after she was attacked.

“Since then, he has attempted to control and monitor all my communications,” she claimed, noting they had been attending individual and couple’s counseling.

Arielle claimed her husband became so enraged after she was “uncomfortable” posing for a photo he wanted to take on the edge, and soon after, he began to push her “back towards the cliff edge,” according to the petition and an arrest affidavit.

He allegedly started screaming at her to “Go back over there, I’m so f–king sick of you,” she wrote, noting she at first thought he was joking.

“I quickly realized he was seriously trying to make me fall off the cliff,” she wrote in the petition.

Her husband then began punching her and hitting her with a rock before trying to jab her with two syringes, according to reports.

She managed to escape the alleged attack with facial and head injuries. Meanwhile, Gerhardt has been charged with attempted murder and is being held on a $5 million bond.
