A hyper-leftist professor at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire has been accused of an appalling act of violence against students for their unacceptable offence of being Republican on campus.

The UWEC College Republicans accused Associate Professor and Chair of the English Department Jose Felipe Alvergue of flipping over their table in anger while they were attempting to campaign for the recent Wisconsin Supreme Court election.

The group shared a video on social media of their table in shambles, with pins, flyers, and lollipops scattered on the ground as the professor appeared to walk away.

UWEC College Republicans were campaigning for conservative Brad Schimel for the Wisconsin Supreme Court against Susan Crawford and state superintendent candidate Brittany Kinser, who ran against incumbent Jill Underly.

The student-led group shared footage of the aftermath on their Instagram account and captioned the video, 'Violent Crawford supporter flipped our table this morning. Vote Schimel to bring back justice and civility!'

The state Supreme Court race was the most expensive in judicial election history, with Elon Musk rallying for Schimel and handing out $1 million checks to voters at a campaign event. Despite conservative's efforts, both Democrats won their respective races.

Tatiana Bobrowicz, the chair of the group posted a separate video telling followers that shortly after they set up their election-day table in the morning, a professor targeted them in a 'violent attack.'

'This is unacceptable. The university has since confirmed that this attacker was the chair of the university's English department. Once again, this type of violent attack will not be tolerated,' Bobrowicz said.

The College Republicans group named Associate Professor and Chair of the English Department Jose Felipe Alvergue as the professor who flipped their table on Election Day

Chair of the student-led political group, Tatiana Bobrowicz, posted a video on Instagram condemning the professor's actions as 'unacceptable'

The video generated mixed reactions, with some students slamming the group as hypocrites, while others condemned the woke professor's actions.

'So this was a violent attack, but the capital insurrection was a protest. Right…' one comment read.

'And you call us snowflakes. Can't have these violent attacks on this campus. Please explain to me how Jan 6th wasn't a violent attack,' another wrote.

However, some stood by the group, writing, 'We stand with UWEC Republicans! Professors should encourage open dialogue, not lash out at students for their beliefs. If this is what education looks like now, only God knows what the future holds!'

'A PROFFESOR? I thought it was a student. This is unacceptable,' another agreed.

Alvergue, who the group named as the professor that flipped their table, has a PhD from SUNY Buffalo, according to his biography on the university's website.

'I believe that we can't unlock the empathy hidden behind words if we don't understand what is at stake in the risk writers and artists take when they decide to transform the matter which makes up the world around them into the story words communicate,' he wrote in his profile.

Interim Provost Michael Carney released a statement sharing that he was 'deeply concerned' about the situation.

There were mixed reactions to the group's video, with some students slamming them as hypocrites, while others sympathized with their situation

The university released a statement saying they were 'deeply concerned' with the situation and said the professor would be put on leave pending an investigation

'UW-Eau Claire strongly supports every person's right to free speech and free expression, and the university remains committed to ensuring that campus is a place where a wide variety of opinions and beliefs can be shared and celebrated,' the statement continued.

'Civil dialogue is a critical part of the university experience, and peaceful engagement is fundamental to learning itself.'

Carney went on to confirm that the university is working with the Office of General Counsel, which is investigating the matter.

The interim provost confirmed that the faculty member had been placed on administrative leave pending an investigation, but didn't confirm that the professor was Professor Alvergue.
