A woman from Texas has revealed how thought she was about to die when she was set upon by her neighbor's eight pit bulls leaving her with horrific injuries to her arms and face.
Michelle Means, 52, from Willis north of Houston was outside her home when the pack of dogs appears to attack her without warning alongside other members of her family including her pregnant daughter and her 13-year-old son.
She was left with bite marks all over her body and needed 180 stitches and 90 staples to close deep wounds in her head, arms and neck.
'I just remembered I didn't want to die, but it seemed like I was going to,' said Means said to Fox 26. 'They just started attacking, biting my head, my neck, my arms, my leg...'
The dogs' vicious attack was so severe they appeared to see Means as little more than piece of meat.
'I looked down at the brown and white dog, and it looked at me, and it's just like something snapped in its eyes, and it jumped up at that time and grabbed ahold of my face,' Means recounted.
'And within a couple of seconds another one had grabbed a hold of my calf and I was on the ground.'
The savages took away part of her right cheek and left her lip hanging from her face.

'The dog had actually bitten off my lip, so they had to reattach my lip and sew all this up. A piece of my cheek was missing so they had to kind of pull the skins together,' Means explained.
'They're chomping down on you and just pulling you apart piece by piece,' she told KHOU.
The brutal attack only ended when a man with a shovel saw what was happening and rushed over to try and shoo the animals away.
'Everywhere they bit they got down to it, but they didn't get muscle, they got down to the nerves, but they didn't get the nerves,' Means said. 'It could've been so much worse, and I realize how blessed I am to get out of it the way I did.'
Means and her children were then rushed to hospital where she underwent two surgeries and received several rabies shots.
Her son suffered bite wounds to his ankle, feet and calves while her daughter had to get stitches as well as shots for rabies.
Incredibly, despite her horrific injuries, Means says she does not hold any grudges towards her neighbor, but wants people to be cautious around the dangerous animals.
'I just want people to be aware that it's not always about what the owners do and how good the owners are, sometimes even the best of dogs and break,' Means said.
A bystander with a shovel intervened to scare the dogs away, allowing Means and her two children to receive emergency medical care, including surgeries and numerous stitches

'Even if a dog looks friendly, it doesn't mean it's friendly. Even if you don't provoke them, it doesn't mean they won't attack. I don't blame the owners, but I sure would hate for this to happen to anybody else.'

Two of the eight dogs involved in the attack have been put down by the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office.
It is not clear what has happened to remaining six pets.
