One of the industry's top influencers has revealed the most lucrative social media app for making money in 2025 - and it's not TikTok or Instagram.

Entrepreneur and Netflix star Julieanna Goddard - best know as YesJulz to her millions of followers online - told DailyMail.com that Snapchat is the place to be right now for people who want to monetize their fanbase.

'It's definitely more relevant now that it was in 2020 or 2022,' she said.

'Snapchat is having a huge resurgence thanks to people like JT from the City Girls and Catherine Paiz,' she continued.

'I've made $5,000 in total from Instagram subscriptions but I make way more than that every month on Snap.'

Goddard said that it was Snapchat's advertising model, which blasts ads at users between content that they watch on the platform, that makes it so lucrative.

'People don't even have to subscribe to me. They're watching me for free because the advertisers pay,' she said.

'Snapchat has just figured out a way for creators on the platform to truly make a living.'

Back in December, Goddard revealed that she was clearing upwards of $10,000 a month on Snapchat - even though she has has less views on the app than on Instagram.

When asked why her earnings fluctuate so dramatically month to month, the Miami-based Snapchat star explained that it was all down to how often she posts.

'I'm moody. Sometimes I go weeks without posting,' she explained.

'I post 10 to 15 days out of the month. When I'm active, I'm very active, otherwise I'm offline all together.'

In addition to Goddard, Snapchat's biggest influencers include OnlyFans model Sophie Rain, reality stars Heidi Montag and Khloe Kardashian, YouTuber Katie Feeney, comedian Brittany Furlan, and social media star David Dobrik.

The rules to become a monetized creator on Snapchat are currently quite strict.

Back in December, Goddard revealed that she was clearing upwards of $10,000 a month on Snapchat , even though she has has less views on the app than on Instagram

Users must have at least 50,000 followers on their public profile, and must post at least 25 times to their Saved Stories or Spotlight.

They also need to achieve one of the following in 28 days: 10 million Snap views, one million Spotlight views, or 12,000 hours of view time.

Spotlight is Snapchat's answer to TikTok, with Spotlight having a very similar feel to TikTok's main feed.

According to a statement from Snapchat last year, total viewing time on the app is up 25 percent year-over-year, and the app now reaches 500 million active monthly users.

Goddard was one of Snapchat's early stars and was dubbed the 'Queen of Snapchat' by the New York Times.

She went on to work with brands like Beats by Dre and artists including Kanye West.

Most recently, she starred in Netflix's reality series W.A.G.S. to Riches and is now focused on launching her own music career.

'People don't even have to subscribe to me. They're watching me for free because the advertisers pay,' she said

She also has her own clothing line called Never Not Working aimed at empowering female entrepreneurs.

'As women, we innately feel like we need to be well behaved and take up less space and earn our spot at the table, but we have our spot from the moment we open our eyes and are born into this world,' she said.

'So I think just embodying that and knowing that and being proud to be who you are and be authentically yourself at all times despite what societal standards or norms might be like,' she continued.

'Don't ever feel like you should wait to speak your mind or be shy to claim an idea or work as yours,' she added.
