CV NEWS FEED // Marking its 25th anniversary, Word on Fire has announced plans to establish a new religious order of priests.

The initiative, outlined in a recent announcement, aims to build on the organization’s evangelization efforts and ensure their continuity in the years ahead.

The Word on Fire Order of Priests will initially include three to five priests and a similar number of novices. Members of the order will live according to a rule developed by Bishop Barron and undergo advanced formation in Word on Fire’s ethos of evangelization.

A property in Rochester, Minnesota, acquired through a donor’s contribution, will serve as the new order’s community base. This location will allow the priests to live together and prepare for their work in Catholic outreach.

The announcement comes as Word on Fire reflects on its 25-year history of “proclaiming Christ in the culture” and looks to expand its work into the future.

In 2000, @BishopBarron began recording sermons for a local Chicago radio station.

Today, the Word on Fire ministry has grown into an international movement of evangelization.

“We pray that this order will exist in perpetuity,” the announcement stated, “leading the way in evangelization and drawing people into a deeper relationship with Jesus Christ.”

Recruitment for the order is expected to begin soon. Word on Fire is seeking financial support to cover living expenses, education, and the costs associated with training and mission efforts.

Other initiatives announced as part of Word on Fire’s 25th anniversary include the expansion of its filmmaking efforts to produce and distribute more documentary and narrative films, in addition to plans to enhance its publishing work by launching a new literary imprint and pursuing other book-related projects.
