This afternoon’s pre-kickoff spectacular is just the second of THREE - yes, three - opening ceremonies for this World Cup.

With the tournament being hosted across Canada, Mexico and the United States, each host nation is getting the chance to host their own show before each of their opening games.

It has to be fair, after all. FIFA can’t be seen showing favoritism - unless it’s to Donald Trump, of course.

An Americanized concept - very a la Super Bowl - the opening ceremony isn’t everyone’s cup of tea - especially not the European fans. But yesterday’s Shakira-fest was a treat.

The ‘Hips Don’t Lie’ hitmaker performed ‘Dai Dai’ - the official anthem of the 2026 World Cup - alongside rapper Burna Boy.

Thousands of fans went wild inside the Azteca as Shakira, who also recorded the official anthem for the 2010 World Cup, shimmied her hips amid the sea of backup dancers.

The jam-packed show also featured performances from Alejandro Fernandez, Belinda, Danny Ocean, J Balvin , Lila Downs, Los Angeles Azules, Mana and Tyla - all of whom featured on the first-ever FIFA World Cup album.

Canda, your move.
