@stillgray

Mark Zuckerberg now identifies as a libertarian and has reportedly hired a Republican PR firm to help rehabilitate his image and repair his relationship with Trump. Thoughts?

He knows he's made some mistakes in the past and he sees how things have been changing recently, but it was the Ghost of Christmas yet to Come that convinced him to make his move now.

Zucky is trying to hedge his bet in case Trump wins.

Or, better yet, maybe he knows something. Someone with his wealth could easily contract his own unbiased poll. It would be worth it to him to pay many millions to conduct such a poll.

Its possible...lotsa folks see the light, as it were.

But I’ll be more convinced if Meta makes some significant changes on free speech and their “community” standards...and so far it hasn’t.

Moolah where mouth is, Zuckie.

Use Facebook to crush the Dems for 3-4 election cycles, then maybe we’ll believe you.

This makes it sound like he is moving from one concrete outlook on life and politics to another concrete outlook on life and politics.

Libertarian is one of those non-word words, like someone saying he is now not (blank) religion but is spiritual, what does it even mean except that he believes whatever he wants to believe on whatever is brought up and in reality doesn’t believe in anything particular.

Is this his way of saying he is agreeing with conservatives on some issues but doesn’t want to use the word, that “libertarian” keeps him above it all and doesn’t pin him to anything?

Interesting development, if true.

Could be he’s telling the truth because I see no political advantage for him to do this otherwise.

I wouldn’t trust nor work with the jerk. That being said, Mr. Trump is a better man than me. It would not surprise me to read a future story about a new era of cooperation with the social media titan.

Lots of Conservatives and Libertarians are Idealists who were once Liberals because they had some liberal professors or other influences convince them that the free lunch promises of the dishonest authoritarianists were lovely. And then reality, such as taxes and government red tape, hit them. As a result they figured out that there are no free lunches and that government power must be limited.

Gee, did someone get the Winklevi’s opinions in all of this?

But in all seriousness, I’m not inclined to believe so much as a single word that comes out of Zuckerberg’s mouth. There are only TWO things he can be trusted for:

(1) He’s pretty damn slick. Slicker than owl droppings.
(2) Zuck will always do what’s best for Zuck.

You nailed it! Action, not words!

I don't trust him, but he can prove he's changed by helping Trump win!

Otherwise he's just another troll!
