Zelda streamer finally beats brutally hard no-hit challenge in Ocarina of Time after over a year

Twitch streamer MajinPhil has finally completed one of the toughest Legend of Zelda challenges imaginable, beating a brutally randomized version of Ocarina of Time without taking a single hit.

Challenge runs have become a huge part of the Zelda community over the years, with players constantly finding new ways to make Nintendo’s classic adventure even more difficult.

From speedruns and randomizers to three-heart playthroughs and no-hit attempts, fans have pushed Ocarina of Time to its limits for decades.

Even so, MajinPhil’s challenge stood out as one of the toughest, combining randomized enemies and items with strict no-hit rules that forced a complete restart after every mistake. After more than a year of heartbreaking defeats and restarts, the streamer finally completed the game.

Streamer completes no-hit Zelda challenge

The rules made an already challenging game even harder as every enemy and item was randomized, no glitches were allowed, every boss had to be defeated, shield blocking was banned, and taking even a single hit meant deleting the run and starting a brand new game.

But after 18 months of attempts, Phil finally achieved the challenge live on Twitch with his 135th run proving successful.

As the credits rolled after his 11-hour playthrough, Phil naturally celebrated the achievement alongside fans who were quick to praise the impressive run.

“Congrats, well deserved,” commented one fan, while another added: “Phil our GOAT taking out OoT as well! Onwards to the next great challenge!”

Of course, whether MajinPhil plans to tackle the rest of the Zelda series with similarly unforgiving rules remains to be seen, especially given how tough it was in the first place.

However, with the upcoming Ocarina of Time remake on the horizon, it remains to be seen whether he’ll eventually put himself through the challenge all over again in the new version.
