CV NEWS FEED // Mark Zuckerberg stated Jan. 10 on Joe Rogan’s podcast that the Biden administration tried to force Meta, which owns multiple social media apps, censor true information that challenged the safety of the COVID-19 vaccine.

In an excerpt of the podcast posted on X, Zuckerberg said, “They pushed us super hard to take down things that were honestly were true. They basically pushed us and said anything that says that vaccines might have side effects, you need to take down. And I was just like well, we’re not going to do that.”

When Rogan asked him who “they” were, Zuckerberg stated that it was people within Biden’s administration. He added that documentation of the incident is available in the public domain.

Zuckerberg may have been referring to an Aug. 26, 2024, letter that he sent to the U.S. House of Representatives Judiciary Committee, where he also explained that Biden’s administration had pressured Meta to censor vaccine information, as reported by Reuters.

He also told Rogan that the government officials would scream and curse at Meta employees because they did not cooperate with the censorship attempts.

The administration even tried to censor memes about the vaccine, a measure that Meta refused to obey.

Zuckerberg said the situation escalated when Biden declared that social media companies “are killing people” by allowing people to post criticisms of the vaccines.

“Then all these different agencies and branches of government basically just started investigating coming after our company. It was brutal,” Zuckerberg said.
