The Favorites
The Defenders are the slight favorites as they attempt to defend their title. While the team lost its starting quarterback, Jordan Ta'amu, to a season-ending injury in Week 8, D.C. was still able to secure a spot in the postseason. The Defenders finished with a 5-5 regular-season record and entered the playoffs as the No. 4 seed. They defeated the Orlando Storm 28-22 in their semifinal game en route to their championship date with the Kings.
The Underdogs
The Kings come into this matchup as the slight underdog. Their roster also boasts UFL Defensive Player of the Year Cam Gill, who tallied three different games with multiple sacks. In its inaugural year, Louisville notched a 6-4 regular-season record. After demolishing the reigning champs in Week 7, their title odds surged. And when the teams met again in Week 8, the Kings got another win, 30-33.
