Aces’ A’ja Wilson Confronts Fan In Intense Playoff Scene

Daaamn! This is how we’re doing the playoffs, WNBA?

A’ja Wilson, the superstar center of the Las Vegas Aces, was issued a technical foul Tuesday night after an intense confrontation with a fan at Gainbridge Fieldhouse during her team’s 99-89 defeat to the Indiana Fever in Game 2 of the first-round series between the two. Things went down with a little more than four minutes remaining in the fourth quarter following Fever guard Sophie Cunningham being called for a foul on Wilson. While Cunningham was protesting the foul, a fan who was sitting behind the baseline stood up and started pointing at the Aces center.

Wilson then rushed over to the fan and shouted, “You don’t point at me, you don’t point at me.” While the fan was being pulled back down to his seat by who I assume to be his wife, Vegas players Jackie Young, Cheyenne Parker-Tyus and Chelsea Gray ran over to get Wilson away from the scene. Aces forward Kierstan Bell also joined the circus, leaving the bench to do so.

Afterward, the fan was kicked out of the arena bowl; however, he would ultimately be allowed to return to his seat after security determined that “there was no violation of the Fan Code of Conduct.”

The fact that the fan was evaluated, cleared, and allowed right back to his seat tells you everything you need to know about this situation.

And quite frankly, A’ja should know better — you’ve won multiple championships and MVPs, for crying out loud.
