Alina Habba makes her decision on whether she wants to be Trump's press secretary in surprise announcement

Alina Habba has ruled herself out of being Donald Trump's announcement despite speculation she was the front-runner. 

The firebrand attorney was thought to be a top contender for one of the most high-profile jobs in the administration.  

But on Thursday morning, she announced that she withdrew her name from consideration.  

'While I am flattered by the support and speculation, the role of Press Secretary is not a role I am considering,' Habba wrote on X. 'Although I love screaming from a podium I will be better served in other capacities.'

Habba is known as an attack dog for Trump and is battle tested when it comes to facing combative members of the press.

Initially brought into Trump's circle to be his attorney in a series of high-profile legal cases, Habba joined the campaign as a senior adviser this summer.

It's unclear if she will have an official role in Trump's White House. 

'This adminstration (sic) is going to be epic!' Habba wrote on X as she made her decision to not be the next press secretary. 'So proud of the Trump team, the latest appointments and 47!'
