Maajid Nawaz, the author, counter-extremism campaigner, political commentator and broadcaster, is joining GB News.
Maajid will present a new show on GB News’ YouTube platform, write a regular column for GBNews.com and appear regularly as a panellist and guest across Britain’s number one news channel.
A prominent voice on free speech, Islamist extremism and political debate, Maajid brings extensive experience across broadcasting and journalism to GB News.
His previous media work includes presenting a weekend show on LBC and appearing on Sky News’ The Pledge.
His writing has been published in The Times, The Guardian, The New York Times and The Wall Street Journal, among other publications.
He said: "As a long-term free-speech campaigner, especially on issues related to Islamist extremism, it is an honour for me to be working with GB News, which has quickly established itself as the home of free speech in Britain.
"In my contributions to the channel, I am aiming to bring a unique perspective on all matters related to extremism, social cohesion, foreign policy and communal identity dynamics in a modern Britain.
"For too long in Britain, our political discourse has been in steady decline, dominated by an unimaginative and stale establishment orthodoxy.
"GB News was set up to disrupt this status quo. No stranger to questioning dogma, I am delighted to join this fearless team that seeks to reimagine what it means to belong to Britain in our troubled but exciting contemporary times.
"Having been a broadcaster for a weekend show at LBC, and for The Pledge on Sky News, and with columns published in The Times, Guardian, New York Times and Wall Street Journal, among others, I am excited to combine this history in media with the feistiness of a new channel that is unafraid and self-confident."
