A teaser for his new song revealed that it will feature a snippet from Baby Shark.
It showed him dancing and playing basketball with friends before he drank from a bottle of water and appeared to be transported to a shallow pool, where he splashed around.
At the end he sang in Korean, which translated to: 'I’m your boy.'
The track will feature Monsta X member Joohoney, Forbes reported.
'I’ve always been grateful that people still remember the video I was in as a child,' Geon-roung told Business Korea.
'Ten years ago I danced next to Baby Shark. Now I want people to hear my own voice and the story I wrote myself.'
A spokesperson for Pinkfong Company added to Korea Herald: 'This isn’t just about bringing back the boy from the video. It’s about him telling his own story, and we want to carry that new beginning forward authentically.'
The single will reportedly be followed with a behind-the-scenes documentary about what Geon-roung has been up to since Baby Shark, called WAVE: A Boy's Record.
