Apple's AirPods Max 2 rarely drop in price, but right now they're down to $449 on Amazon. That's an 18% discount off the usual $549 price.

That's good timing, because when we reviewed the AirPods Max 2, our take was simple: they're a genuinely great pair of headphones, just not enough of an upgrade to justify full price if you already own the original. Our advice at the time was to wait for a sale.

Sound-wise, the Max 2 is built to deliver deep bass, clear mids, and crisp highs, and Apple pairs it with Personalized Spatial Audio, which uses your ear shape and head movement to make music and video sound as if they're surrounding you, similar to a mini home theater.

Noise cancellation gets a real bump too, up to 1.5 times better than the previous model, and it now adjusts automatically depending on your surroundings through a feature called Adaptive Audio. There's also Conversation Awareness, which lowers your volume automatically when you start talking to someone nearby, and a Transparency mode for when you want outside sound let back in.

One of the more interesting additions is Live Translation, which uses Apple Intelligence to translate what someone's saying into your preferred language in real-time, just by holding down the listening mode button. That said, it needs a compatible iPhone running iOS 26.4 or later, so it's not something every user can access right away.

If this is your first time trying Apple's earbuds, now's a good time to pick up a pair. Grab the Apple AirPods Max 2 while they're $100 off.
