They hate us ’cause they ain’t us.

When it comes to the Australian Open, the tennis on the court isn’t the only thing making the headlines. The media, being who they are and not able to control themselves when it comes to placing their ugly faces into the spotlight, has done just that with some crazy drama that they’ve sparked up.

Things got going when Australian broadcaster Tony Jones mocked the legendary Novak Djokovic on live television, blasting him to his fans while right outside of Rod Laver Arena. (RELATED: Novak Djokovic Finds Support From Elon Musk After Shutting Down Media Outlet Over Criticism)

Turning towards the crowd of Djokovic supporters who were chanting, Jones began yelling sarcastically “Novak is overrated … Novak’s a has-been … Novak kick him out.” Yeah, that didn’t make Djokovic happy, and as a result, he skipped out on the post-match interview he was supposed to do on the court following his straight-set victory against Jiri Lehecka.

As far as Djokovic‘s relationship with the media, tension is nothing new, especially in the land down under. However, Djokovic isn’t the only tennis star who has a little beef with the Australian media.

Ben Shelton, who is an American, blasted the press in the Pacific nation as “embarrassing and disrespectful.” To be more specific, Shelton brought up a situation that involved Learner Tien, another American, who pulled a second-round upset over Daniil Medvedev.

America is in such a good space right now that I can’t help but laugh at these disrespectful Aussies.
