Bill Maher joked that liberal women's sex strike over Donald Trump's victory is the first time, 'progressives found a way to turn something blue'.

The Real Time host said that while half the country are 'ecstatic', Democrat women are, 'among the most p****d off' about the president-elect's win.

A number of liberal women have declared they are swearing off dating, sex, marriage and children in protest at the election result as part of the so-called 4B movement which originated in South Korea.

'This is a big thing to any guy who voted for Trump. Well, all I can say is, finally, progressives found a way to turn something blue,' Maher quipped during his Friday show.

He went on to claim that Trump has exacerbated liberals' woes with his cabinet picks this week.

Among them is Matt Gaetz who has been nominated for Attorney General, a choice which has caused the 'most consternation' according to Maher.

Gaetz has been under investigation by a House committee since 2021 amid allegations of drug use, sexual misconduct and sending inappropriate images

'A president usually wants an Attorney General who is familiar with Justice Department investigations but not the target of them,' Maher joked. Gaetz has denied all allegations against him.

The comedian spoke about Gaetz's goals while in office, which include getting rid of departments which have 'three letters', such as the FBI as well as Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF) and the Department of Education.

He said there has been a lot of talk in Washington about streamlining the federal government, which includes the establishment of the Department of Government Efficiency, headed by Elon Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy.

However, the president-elect has spoken about cutting departments.

'Trump wants to get rid of the Education Department, which would turn it back to the States,' Maher explained.

'Which means, like in Arkansas, you could be taught by nuns, and in New York, you could be taught by drag queens.'

The 'unorthodox' picks, are 'what happens when you lose elections' Maher said.

'This is the Trump party, and if he chooses Kanye to be the ambassador to Israel, say hi to Yeezus of Nazareth.'

Trump's most recent selection has been his sharp-tongued campaign spokesperson Steven Cheung as communications director.

Cheung worked on all three Trump campaigns and formerly worked in communications for the Ultimate Fighting Championship.

Additionally, on Friday, Trump announced that Sergio Gor - an aide who previously worked for Republican Sen. Rand Paul - will be the director of the Presidential Personnel Office.

Another of the most polarizing nominations has been Robert F. Kennedy Jr. as Health and Human Services Secretary.
