The Benjamin Franklin High School student who jumped to his death from a four-story building in Highland Park was punched in the face by another classmate before he leaped over a school railing, new video shows.

The now-deceased student was verbally and physically assaulted by a fellow classmate Wednesday in new video as an elderly teacher desperately tried to separate the two. The attacker lands a punch to the face of the other student, knocking him to the ground.

As the now-deceased student gets back up to his feet, the attacker can be heard on the video saying, “Run, n—a — run.”

A student at Benjamin Franklin High School in Highland Park died after falling from a fourth-floor balcony on campus.
The attacker, after punching the victim, can be heard on video saying, “Run, n—a — run.”

The student who was punched is then seen running through an outdoor hallway, several stories up, as the student who punched him follows behind before the first student leaps over the railing to the ground below.

Student witnesses were left stunned, repeating, “Oh my God!” in the video.

The camera briefly pans down to the ground, showing the deceased student lying motionless. According to the Los Angeles Police Department, the fatal fall was reported around 1 p.m. Wednesday.

“I hear stuff rumbling, falling, and I look up and I see kids fighting. I see a kid getting hurt pretty bad… [he] throws himself over the fourth floor,” a witness told FOX 11.

The fatal fall was reported to the LAPD around 1 p.m. Wednesday. Obtained by the CA Post

The LAPD has not released the students’ name or age, and no formal charges against the aggressor have been announced so far. All campus gates will remain closed until law enforcement authorizes the school to reopen.
