China’s leading aircraft manufacturer opened its second office outside mainland China in the space of three days this week, as the Commercial Aircraft Corporation of China (Comac) appears poised to expand its footprint in the global aviation market.

State-owned Comac is the manufacturer of China’s home-grown C919 narrowbody airliner and its ARJ21 regional jet.

Deputy general manager Li Ling said the office in Hong Kong was an important component of Comac’s international strategy and essential to deepening cooperation in the Greater Bay Area, adding it would expand Comac’s international customer service network and enhance its global service capabilities.

“We look forward to working hand in hand with all parties, strengthening exchanges with the aviation industry in Hong Kong and even Southeast Asia with a more open attitude,” Li said.

This collaboration reflects our commitment in supporting the long-term growth of Comac, its customers and the broader aviation industry
