SORATA — The good news was revealed to be advancing like never before, as a church in the U.S. announced over the weekend that it had sent out a team of missionaries to a remote tribe that had never heard Switchfoot.
Congregants at Redeemer Baptist church were overjoyed to learn that their tithes and offerings were being put to good use, as a missions trip to the far reaches of Bolivia had successfully made contact with a hidden tribe to distribute copies of The Beautiful Letdown.
"We're eager to spread the good news of Switchfoot to every tribe and nation," said Pastor Gerald Haberdine. "It's part of the command our Lord gave us before He ascended into Heaven. Just as we are to go into all the world and make disciples, we are also to make sure everyone has the opportunity to hear Switchfoot."
Witnesses on the ground with the missionary team said the impoverished children were overjoyed. "They said they wanted this even more than food," one member of the team said. "You should have seen the smiles on their little faces. They probably haven't been this happy since the last time they had a meal, whenever that was. At least now they'll be able to pass the time by listening to the greatest Christian music band of all time. Praise the Lord!"
At publishing time, the church announced that a follow-up missions trip was already being planned to visit the tribe and take them copies of Switchfoot's hit 2009 album Hello Hurricane.
