Congress must get to the bottom of the Fauci-EcoHealth COVID coverup

A bombshell new House report on COVID shows that Team Trump and the GOP Congress have another job to do: Getting to the bottom of US agency involvement in the causes of the pandemic.

The House Select Subcommittee on the Coronavirus Pandemic has now revealed (among other big-ticket findings) that the Justice Department secretly empaneled a criminal grand jury to investigate the origins of COVID — and naturally, shady nonprofit EcoHealth Alliance, headed by the villainous Peter Daszak, came under scrutiny.

Let’s rewind the tape to see some reasons for Justice to take this drastic step.

From 2014 to 2021, the National Institutes of Health gave around $8 million to Daszak and EcoHealth.

EcoHealth then handed over some of that cash to the Wuhan Institute of Virology as they partnered up to do gain-of-function research.

More, Daszak’s company specifically sought to manipulate coronaviruses at the “furin cleavage site”: the crucial mutation in later identifying the COVID virus.

When COVID broke out from its Wuhan epicenter, the NIH (along with China’s government) began pushing the now-discredited narrative that it had originated in nature.

Worse, NIH campaigned to intimidate anyone who disagreed — a campaign spearheaded by agency chief Francis Collins and Anthony Fauci, who’d OK’d multiple grants to EcoHealth.

And Fauci repeatedly tried to pull the wool over the eyes of Congress with semantic games about NIH involvement in funding this research.

A key Fauci aide bragged about hiding info from Freedom of Information efforts.

All while demanding utterly unscientific responses like mask and vaccine mandates, school closures and social distancing (which Fauci would later admit was based on made-up nonsense).

EcoHealth insists it wasn’t the target of the criminal probe, even though the feds were demanding correspondence from Daszak and records of the genetic sequences of the viruses his outfit worked on.

So who the heck was the target? And why don’t we know? And what else are these people hiding?

That these questions remain open is obscene.

But it’s par for the course with the butt-covering that’s characterized the Fauci-Collins-Daszak response to the inquiries into COVID’s origins.

Fauci and all the other obfuscators have so far escaped any meaningful accounting.

Getting the full facts — and changing the culture that they created, which may have helped cause a global disasters — must be a top priority for NIH chief-designate Jay Bhattacharya and the new Republican crew in Washington.
