Now, usually a company isn’t actively trying to get you to steal from them, but one clothing store has decided to abandon that idea and offer its fans the chance to ‘steal’ a T-shirt if you beat their new game.

It’s pretty rare for a company to actively encourage shoplifting. After all, it’s illegal, will land you in a considerable amount of trouble, and impact the company you steal from. Well, luckily that’s pretty tough to do online, unless the store actively encourages it.

Cool Shirtz is offering exactly that, giving fans a chance to get its latest T-shirt for free by completing a game built into its online store.

However, getting away with your new shirt involves more than clicking a button. You’ll need to make it through a mall full of obstacles and security, with a limited number of physical shirts available for successful escapees.

To celebrate the release of its new Shoplifting Tee, Cool Shirtz is releasing Shoplift, a runner game that gives shoppers an alternative to paying for the shirt.

When you add the Shoplifting Tee to your cart, you can choose to ‘steal’ it instead of buying it. Selecting that option launches the game, turning your shopping trip into an escape attempt.

Players pick a shirt for Ryder to steal, then help her escape through a busy mall. Along the way, you’ll need to dodge security and obstacles to reach the end.

Make it out successfully while prizes remain, and Cool Shirtz will send you a real, physical Shoplifting shirt completely free of charge.

The game gets harder as you progress, so reaching the finish won’t necessarily be straightforward. Still, according to the company, beating it isn’t impossible.

However, the giveaway has a limit. Cool Shirtz has set aside 1,000 shirts for the promotion, meaning the free clothing won’t last indefinitely.

Once that prize pool runs out, successful players will receive a discount code instead. You can still win the game after the shirts have been claimed, but your escape will earn you a cheaper purchase rather than a free one.
