Police shot and wounded a suspect who waved a knife at cops inside a Bronx apartment building Sunday evening, according to law enforcement sources.

The man was hit at least twice by gunfire around 5:45 p.m. on 148th Street in the Mott Haven neighborhood after cops responded to a call, sources said, citing preliminary information.

He is expected to survive, according to police.  

More information about the suspect and police response was not immediately available.

The Bronx shooting comes two days after cops shot a 50-year-old man who allegedly pointed a gun at an NYPD sergeant in Brooklyn during a police chase.

That suspect was taken to a local hospital in critical condition.
