Per the New York Post’s Erich Richter, UFC has the belief that the four-letter network hasn’t kept their side of the deal that featured an exclusive broadcast rights partnership for five years. The deal began in 2019. In the agreement, ESPN, ESPN+ and other entities of the Disney-owned company have exclusive rights for pay-per-views and events associated with the UFC.
Things haven’t been successful between the two, however, with the UFC suffering from consistent streaming problems, dropouts, connection struggles and a ton of lagging. What put Dana White & Co. over the top was the recent Alex Pereira vs. Magomed Ankalaev pay-per-view that was so bad even UFC talent was blasting ESPN.

If I’m UFC, I’m pulling the trigger as soon as I can. Plus, you probably can make a lot more money from a new deal. There’s absolutely nothing to lose here if you’re the UFC.
Pull the trigger, Dana.
