Former NASCAR racer and passionate Donald Trump supporter Danica Patrick has launched a scathing attack on the governor of California Gavin Newsom amid the Los Angeles wildfires.
The blazes began Tuesday and five people have been killed, while an estimated 2,000 buildings have been destroyed.
Patrick took to X to criticize Newsom in three posts, amid claims by the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power that teams have struggled to maintain the water pressure needed by firefighters to tackle the blazes.
'California has 840 miles of coast line and 3,000 lakes and reservoirs,' Patrick wrote. 'Why don’t they have enough water to fix any and all fires?
'At some point I have to imagine it’s getting difficult for hardcore Cali lovers to accept the state of their state and how it’s managed.'
In a separate post, she shared a video of the poverty in downtown Los Angeles, before the fires had erupted around the city, and said: 'Highest state tax in the country for that view. Make that make sense.'

And in a third post, she targeted Newsom directly and wrote: 'Time for Newscum to be the next to announce his resignation.'
Los Angeles County Fire Department Captain Sheila Kelliher Berkoh had told FOX: 'The strain that this fire has put on the water system and the hydrants, they’re just not designed for that type of usage all at once for 15 hours straight.'
The attacks by Patrick, 42, echo Trump who called Newsom 'Newscum' in his own social media posts about the ongoing crisis, also calling for him to resign.
In response, Newsom accused Trump of playing politics over a situation too serious for personal shots.
'People are literally fleeing, people have lost their lives, kids lost their schools, families completely torn asunder, churches burned down,' Newsom said.
'This guy wanted to politicize it. I have a lot of thoughts and I know what I want to say. I won’t.'
