CV NEWS FEED // Vice President-elect JD Vance on Thursday announced that Daniel Penny had accepted his invitation to be his personal guest at the annual Army-Navy football game.
Penny, a Marine Corps veteran, will accompany Vance to Saturday’s game and will share the box with President-elect Donald Trump.
The Army-Navy Game is a football game between the “Army Black Knights” of the United States Military Academy at West Point and the “Navy Midshipmen” of the United States Naval Academy in Annapolis.
The two rival teams have met since 1890, and every year since 1930. The game marks the end of football season for colleges across America.

Penny this week was acquitted of all charges in the death of Jordan Neely. It was the conclusion of a long and controversial attempt to prosecute Penny after he physically restrained the erratic homeless man on a car in the New York City subway system. Neely passed away shortly after police arrived at the scene.
In an exclusive interview with Fox News hostess Judge Jeanine Pirro, Penny broke his silence for the first time following Monday’s acquittal.
Neely “was just threatening to kill people, he was threatening to go to jail forever, to go to jail for the rest of his life,” said Penny. “And now I’m on the ground with him, I’m on my back in a very vulnerable position. I would have just let go, he would have turned.”
Pirro asked Penny, “Why would that have been a dangerous position?”
“Well if I had just let him go,” Penny explained, “I’m on my back and now he can just turn around and start doing what he said to me.”
“Killing?” asked Pirro.
“Killing,” confirmed Penny.

Vance took to X (formerly Twitter) and remarked on Penny’s innocence on the same day he announced the Marine veteran’s plans to join the vice president-elect and president-elect at Saturday’s game.
“Daniel’s a good guy, and New York’s mob district attorney tried to ruin his life for having a backbone,” Vance stated. “I’m grateful he accepted my invitation and hope he’s able to have fun and appreciate how much his fellow citizens admire his courage.”
