Dianna Russini said her life has been heavily impacted after photos of her hugging Mike Vrabel were exposed by Page Six.
When the New York Times reached out to the NFL reporter in early May for comment regarding an article about the scandal, Russini cited the “intense scrutiny and personal attacks” she had faced.
“This has had a significant impact on my life, both professionally and personally,” she told the newspaper via text message.
Russin — who also referred to herself as a “former journalist” — asked the reporter not to quote from the text messages.
However, the NYT reporter told Russsini, 43, that her comments would be included because she never asked them to be off-the-record.
The former “SportsCenter” anchor then emailed the publisher of her most recent job, the Athletic, and two senior editors at the Times to restate that she did not want her comments included in their article.
Page Six has reached out to the Times for comment but did not immediately hear back.
Russini and Vrabel’s affair made headlines in April when Page Six published exclusive photos of them getting cozy together at a luxury resort in Arizona.
The sports reporter and the New England Patriots head coach — who are both married to other people — initially denied anything romantic was going on between them.
They also claimed they were joined on the trip by friends — despite those claims being disputed by eyewitnesses.
Amid the Times’s investigation of Russini’s actions in the scandal, she resigned from her position as a senior NFL insider. At the time, she was making $800,000 annually.
Vrabel, 50, then announced that he would skip some of the 2026 NFL draft to enter counseling.
One day later, Page Six released photos of Russini and Vrabel kissing and getting cozy in a NYC bar in 2020. This set of photos took place six years before the pair was caught together in Arizona.
At the time, Russini was slated to exchange vows with her now-husband, Shake Shack executive Kevin Goldschmidt, just six months later. Meanwhile, the former NFL star had already been married to his wife, Jen Vrabel.
The NYT investigation into Russini’s affair is still ongoing.
