Disney sent fans into a frenzy after revealing images of its forthcoming Monsters, Inc.-themed roller coaster.

Pixar Chief Creative Officer Pete Docter and Imagineer Michael Hundgen gave a sneak peek of the ride during a panel at SXSW over the weekend.

The roller coaster will be part of the soon-to-be-built Monstropolis at Hollywood Studios in Disney World.

'I can tell you that everyone at Pixar is excited about how this is coming together,' Docter said.

'It really is like a dream come true for us.' Docter said.

The roller coaster will be the theme park's first ever to feature a 'vertical lift that will hoist riders in the air like never before,' according to a clip posted to Disney's Instagram account.

'This is UNREAL for coaster fans,' one viewer replied. 'I cannot wait.'

'Oh my gosh. I literally screamed, wow,' another responded.

The images sent fans into a frenzy:  'This is UNREAL for coaster fans. I cannot wait'

Some fans said they had been 'dreaming' of the roller coaster for years.

'I'm not saying you stole this from my brain, but I have been saying this needs to be a ride for at least the past 15 years,' one wrote.

'Been waiting for this ride 23 years,' another added.

'I have dreamt of this for YEARS!' a third replied.

The roller coaster preview also featured a clip of the film's iconic door chase scene featuring Monsters, Inc. characters James P. 'Sulley' Sullivan (John Goodman), Mike Wazowski (Billy Crystal), and Boo (Mary Gibbs).

The roller coaster will be built inside a building resembling the Monsters, Inc. door warehouse.

Disney Experiences Chairman Josh D'Amaro first announced the Monsters, Inc.-themed area at D23: The Ultimate Disney Event last year.

'You look at it and you go "I need to be suspended, I need my legs flaring all over the place..." It's going to be really fun,' Imagineer Mark White said in a March 10 episode of We Call It Imagineering.

The upcoming Monsters, Inc. ride was inspired by a popular door chase scene in the 2001 Disney film

Hundgen chimed in and said park guests would see 'other trains throughout the building,' which he said helps mimic the movie's door chase scene.

'That iconic scene film where the clock grabs the door and lifts up to shoot it in the vault, we're recreating that,' he explained.

'Desks will go up in the air and hit the first boost zone and get shot into the door vault from Monsters, Inc.'

Besides the roller coaster, Monstropolis is rumored to have a restaurant named Harryhausen's and a Monstro Theater featuring a new Monsters, Inc. show, according to Planet Attractions.

Monstropolis' construction will begin later this year, but it's unclear when the attraction will be open
