Dolly Parton’s star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame was vandalized just one week after the legendary singer passed away.
Video footage shared by KNKX showed crews repairing Parton’s star after her name was scratched off in what appeared to be an attempt to deface the tribute.

— KNX News (@knxnews) September 1, 2026Ana Martinez, a spokesperson for the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce, told TMZ that Parton’s star showed signs of wear and tear and had visible cracks before the vandalism. Martinez noted that the chamber had scheduled the repairs to take place Tuesday, even before the new damage was discovered.

Parton was honored with a star in her name in 1984.
The legendary singer died August 25 at the age of 80 after a brief battle with cancer.
It’s unclear who defaced her star or what triggered their behavior.
