US President Donald Trump launched a scatching attack on the International Criminal Courts (ICC) and the UN over "transgender mutilation of children".
He branded the ICC as an "out of control institution" and vowed the US would never submit to its authority.
Addressing the UN General Assembly in New York, Mr Trump said: "The United States is equally opposed to the out-of-control institution known as the International Criminal Court, we will never allow US service members or anyone else to be investigated or given show trials by an anti-American tribunal with no jurisdiction over us.
"You're an evil group of people."
Mr Trump then called on every nation currently party to the ICC to formally cut ties with the organisation, urging them to "officially resign from this rogue institution immediately".
The US President also turned his fire on the UN's human rights apparatus, accusing officials of focusing on the wrong targets while genuine atrocities go unaddressed elsewhere in the world.
He said: "It is equally unacceptable that, with all the genuine atrocities in the world, the UN's top human rights officials spend their time criticising the United States for protecting our children from transgender mutilation and transgender insanity, and enforcing our immigration laws."
The remarks came during a wide-ranging speech in which Mr Trump opened by declaring "America is back" and insisting the country was "stronger today than ever before".

He told the Assembly: "I can report to you with pride that America is back and our country is stronger today than ever before.
"Our economy is the envy of the world. Our military is the most powerful on earth. Our technology is second to none, and we are leading in virtually everything."
The US President was joined by other world leaders in the Big Apple as they convened for the 81st session of the UN General Assembly.
Also in his address, Mr Trump spoke about Iran and how they were "the bully no more" following the US's joint military operation with Israel against the Islamic Republic.

He said: "While others have promised strength, I have used it to make America the most powerful country in the world.
"Working with many nations in this room, we are solving decades of intractable challenges, and we are settling years of unfinished business.
"And we're doing it well. There is no better example of a danger that was allowed to gather strength at the world's peril than the number one sponsor of terror, the Islamic Republic of Iran.
"For 51 years, the fanatical Iranian regime has ruled by bloodshed and mass murder, spreading death and carnage and chaos across the entire Middle East and beyond.
"They were the bully of the Middle East, but they are the bully no more."
He went to say he was considering whether to "annihilate" Iran or make a deal with them.
Mr Trump said: "Do I annihilate the Islamic Republic... Do I drive them into hell with no chance of survival and no hope of future greatness or generations?
"But I believe we’ll make a deal right after the election because it doesn’t make sense for them not to."
He defended the ongoing conflict with Iran, which has triggered global economic disruption following Tehran's closure of the Strait of Hormuz.
The US President reaffirmed his "unwavering" commitment to preventing Iran from acquiring a nuclear weapon.
He urged other nations to join the US in maintaining pressure on Iran, adding: "We will get it done, one way or another."
Ahead of his speech, senior Iranian officials arrived at the summit with what appeared to be an offer to reopen the Strait within seven days, in exchange for the US easing military pressure on the country.
The US has yet to publicly respond to the proposal.
