President-elect Donald Trump has won Arizona, completing yet another swing state victory and adding 11 electoral votes to his column. After four days of counting in the south-west state, NBC and CNN made the projection on Saturday.

In 2020, Trump had lost the battleground state he had won in 2016 to President Joe Biden. Arizona went on to have a Democratic governor and senators.

Before 2020, the state had been a GOP stronghold and with immigration and border security as key issues during the 2024 US Election and boasting the fourth-largest Hispanic voting population, Trump visited during his recent campaign and turned the tide.

Tuesday’s presidential election saw Trump victorious over Democratic Vice President Kamala Harris. The real estate mogul won the popular vote by a margin of approximately four million votes and defeated the Democratic Party.

Trump’s electoral vote count currently stands at 312 over Harris’ 226 which is 42 more than he needed to secure the White House for a second term. The Republicans have also regained control of the Senate and look likely retain a majority in the House of Representatives.

Meanwhile, Arizona is now the seventh state Trump has won back for the GOP, including Pennsylvania, Michigan, Wisconsin,Georgia, North Carolina and Nevada, which he took on Saturday.
