A knife-wielding brawl in the southwestern province of Sichuan ended with the fatal stabbing of a man, in China’s third deadly episode in recent days.
According to Chengdu police, a 35-year-old man surnamed Zhu stabbed a man on Monday afternoon after a traffic dispute. The victim died despite medical treatment.
Zhu has been placed under criminal detention for further investigation, police said.
On Tuesday morning, several students were injured in front of a primary school in Changde in Hunan province, according to state broadcaster CCTV. Casualties are still unknown.
The incident follows the death of eight people in a knife attack on Saturday at a college in Yixing in the eastern province of Jiangsu.
That attack took place just days after a car rammed into crowds of people exercising at a stadium in Zhuhai in Guangdong province, killing at least 35 and injuring 43, raising concerns over social stability.
