A female Democrat lawmaker has been accused of trying to eradicate women-only sport in an effort to appease transgender people.
Pennsylvania State Senator Lindsey Williams sensationally insisted that women should be equal to men on the sporting field, insisting there is no difference in their capabilities.
'Female bodies are just as strong and fast and capable as male bodies,' she said in her allocated timeslot to discuss the Save Women's Sports Act.
This is despite the clear and well reported biological advantages men have over women, including greater muscle mass, larger hearts and lungs, and less body fat.
The Senate Education Committee was due to vote on the bill, which would 'ensure athletic teams in public educational institutions are designated based on biological sex.'
It ultimately passed seven votes to four. All seven Republicans voted in favor of the bill, while all four Democrats voted against it.
Williams had accused Republicans of bringing the bill for 'political gain' at the taxpayers' expense.
'For what reason other than political gain are we spending time and taxpayer dollars on a completely made up issue?' she asked.

'I was a three sport athlete in high school. Participating in sports gave me the confidence, time management skills and ability to work collaboratively that led me to run for office.
'Absolutely nothing, nothing about having a trans teammate or competitor would have taken those things away from me.'
Dan Bartkowiak, the Chief Strategy Officer at PFI Policy, slammed Williams' comments.
He said she was effectively trying to 'eradicate separate sports for boys and girls.'
Williams had argued that out of about eight million high school athletes across the nation, no more than 160 are transgender, making up less than 0.002 percent of the cohort.
Pennsylvania Senate Republicans issued a statement on Wednesday pointing out that 'Since 2020 in Pennsylvania, 37 female athletes have lost first place, and another 13 lost second or third' to transgender athletes.
'Overall, this has happened across track, swimming, fencing and more in that time frame,' the statement read.
'The Save Women’s Sports Act, would require public schools and colleges to label sports teams as male, female or coed.

'The legislation states that only biological females can join teams designated for women. The bill would also allow students to take legal action if they are harmed by violations of this rule.'
The bill will now advance to the full Senate for consideration.
Transgender competitors in sport has been a flashpoint of the MAGA movement and Trump's return to the White House.
He surrounded himself with female athletes and activists at the White House to sign an executive order barring trans participation in women's sports.
The order uses Title IX, a law against sex discrimination in taxpayer-funded education programs, to ban transgender girls and women from participating in female school sports activities.
In response, the NCAA adapted a policy preventing trans women from competing in women's sports at a collegiate level.

The top collegiate athletics governing body implemented new rules that will only allow people to compete in women's sports if they were assigned female at birth.
In a press release from the NCAA, the body's president, Charlie Baker, said there are more than 530,000 NCAA athletes. At a senate hearing in December of 2024, Baker said he was aware of 'less than 10' are transgender - meaning this policy goes to the lengths of banning 0.0018 percent of athletes.
Trump also said that he is directing Secretary of State Marco Rubio 'to make clear to the International Olympic Committee' that 'America categorically rejects transgender lunacy.'
'We want them to change everything having to do with the Olympics and having to do with this absolutely ridiculous subject,' Trump went on.
Historically transgender athletes have participated in the Olympic Games and the International Olympic Committee (IOC) has released guidelines for their inclusion.
