Former NBA player Desmond Mason was jailed in Oklahoma on Wednesday.

He was arrested on a charge of contempt of court just before midday. He was released later that night - at 9:34pm - on a $50,000 bond.

Mason, 47, was taken in the first round of the 2000 NBA Draft, winning the Slam Dunk Contest a year later.

Court documents showed the arrest was a result of his ongoing divorce case with his ex-wife, Andrea Mason, per TMZ.

The documents reportedly show Mason did not appear in court when ordered to, leading to his arrest.

There was no statement on how Mason's arrest affects his ongoing court case.

In 2001, Mason bested stars Baron Davis and Corey Maggette to win the Slam Dunk Contest in Washington DC. Mason returned to the Slam Dunk contest in 2003, losing to Jason Richardson.

Mason last played in the NBA in 2009 during a brief stint with the Sacramento Kings.

In 2003, Mason was involved in a blockbuster trade that sent Gary Payton and himself to the Milwaukee Bucks in exchange for Ray Allen and Ronald Murray.

That would not be the last time Mason would be traded in his career, also being dealt to the Hornets and Thunder.

Since retiring, Mason had kept a low profile but did make an appearance on the reality television show 'Below Deck Mediterranean' in 2018.
