A Fortnite player has been hit with a lawsuit for stealing and selling hundreds of accounts by essentially tricking the support team.
Fortnite may have just offered cheaters a “second chance,” but that doesn’t mean they’ve stopped ramping up on all kinds of players who refuse to follow the rules.
In February 2025, a cheater was made known to post an apology video following a permanent ban – not only that but their “underserved” prize money was donated to charity.
It’s clear that Epic isn’t slowing down anytime soon when it comes to teaching these kinds of people a lesson as they’ve filed a lawsuit against a person who has allegedly stolen and sold hundreds of other players’ accounts.
Fortnite claims player stole and sold accounts by ‘impersonating’ the original owner
According to Epic, in the lawsuit filed on February 27, 2025, Isaac Strock was able to essentially take control of other players’ accounts by pretending to be the legitimate owner of said accounts, attempting to “take control or change” the email address of these accounts that did not belong to him.

Losing an account with tons of rare skins is something nobody wants to go through.
Epic wrote that he contacted the support team and asked if he could change the email on “my account” – when he was actually referring to another user’s Epic Games account.
As the file states, “Strock contacts Epic’s player support team and pretends to be the account holder of the account he is trying to steal. On information and belief, Strock provides sufficient information to deceive Epic’s player support into providing him access to the account.”
After gaining access, these accounts would then be sold through an online message board, one of which even amounting to “approximately $425 worth of Bitcoin,” with 146 skins and 30 V-Bucks in it.
Epic mentioned that Strock has listed “hundreds of accounts for sale” through this channel, in addition to a website claiming to have already sold “482 products.”
The company stressed that his actions harm Epic and the Fortnite community. “Epic has spent substantial resources investigating and working to prevent Strock’s conduct. Strock’s conduct also directly harms Fortnite players who no longer have access to the accounts they spent time and money on.”
