Fox News received some surprise recognition from another company's CEO this week.
FuboTV CEO Alisa Bowen complimented the cable news network during her company's quarterly earnings call on Wednesday.
Bowen was appointed the sports streamer's chief exec after Disney's acquisition of the company in October.
Bowen, a ten-year Disney vet, started her first Fubo earnings call by asserting her belief that live TV and sports remain central to the streaming service's strategy.
'This past quarter alone has shown that live events have a very unique ability to bring audiences together at scale, and we saw significant excitement and engagement around programming like the World Cup and the NBA Finals,' she said.
'We’re really happy with the range of packages that we have and the optionality that’s giving us to lean into the market at different moments in both the sports calendar and in our business cycle as well.'
She singled out the Fubo Sports + News plan as being particularly versatile, before homing in on one channel out of more than 20 in particular.

Bowen said 'the Fox News component' of Fubo's Sports + News package 'is something that’s particularly valued by our subscriber base'
'Our package competes with a YouTube TV Sports package,' Bowen said. 'For example, the Fox News component in our Sports package is something that’s particularly valued by our subscriber base and is working well for us.'
'I think the distinct core advantages remain our products, our technology, that scale I mentioned, as well as the talented team,' Bowen added later on.
'This is obviously a business and an industry that I know very well.'
'We do have an obligation to make sure that we’re delivering the value that our subscribers are seeking, and that we have the flexibility to continue innovating as an industry, because consumers are demanding it,' she said to end the call.
Fubo's Sports package offers more than 20 sports and local broadcast channels, including ESPN Unlimited, local ABC, CBS and Fox stations, and Fox News. It costs $55.99 per month.
Fox News continues to record high viewership despite cord-cutting and other evolving trends. The channel finished the week of July 27th with 2.7 million weekday primetime viewers, more than NBC, ABC and CBS.
It was also more than both CNN and MS NOW combined. Both have long been considered Fox News's main cable competition and have been met with drastic ratings dips over the past decade.
