HaDEA signs new contracts to strengthen SoHO oversight and national implementation of organ transplant practices

HaDEA has signed two new contracts under the EU4Health programme to improve oversight in the field of Substances of Human Origin (SoHO) and strengthen the national implementation of organ transplant practices, respectively.

Implementation of the new SoHO Regulation: training for SoHO competent authorities’ staff

This contract will support training activities for inspectors, vigilance officers and preparation process assessors with the purpose of strengthening the implementation of oversight in the field of SoHO.

The expected results aim to increase and standardise the competences of these professionals and build a network of competent authority staff, facilitating possible joint inspections, joint assessments of preparation processes and peer audits among EU countries.

Strengthening national implementation of organ transplant practices

The objective of this contract is to strengthen the national implementation of organ transplant practices through cooperation between national authorities and professional sector associations. The contractor will develop and provide training to professionals and staff from competent authorities or delegated bodies regarding organ transplant practices, contributing to strengthening their organ donation and transplantation systems. The contractor will also draw up conclusions from the trainings and recommendations for follow-up work in the field.

Background

EU4Health is the fourth and largest of the EU health programmes. The EU4Health programme goes beyond an ambitious response to the COVID-19 crisis to address the resilience of European healthcare systems. The programme provides funding to national authorities, health organisations and other bodies through grants and public procurement, contributing to a healthier Europe.

HaDEA manages the vast majority of the total EU4Health budget and implements the programme by managing calls for proposals and tenders from 2021 to 2027.
