Something’s fishy.
Henry Winkler’s wife, Stacey Winkler, called out her husband of 48 years on Wednesday for his “biggest lie” — exaggerating his fly fishing skills.
“Sometimes you round off,” she claimed during a joint appearance on the “In Depth with Graham Bensinger” podcast. “You are about your fish size like other people are about other sizes.”
“Wait a minute, really?” the shocked “Happy Days” alum asked his spouse. “I write down in my book exactly. Sometimes I don’t even write down the exact number.”
The actor, 80, quipped that the only time he rounds up is for charity donations.
Stacey, 78, doubled down and joked that her husband’s “biggest charity is [his] fish size.”
“I have learned something,” the “Barry” star said. “We have just celebrated our 48th wedding anniversary. I have just learned something I have never known.”
Teasing him, Stacey asked, “That you pad your numbers?”
Henry replied, “I don’t pad my numbers. That my wife believes I pad my numbers. Shocking. I’m shocked. I’m hurt.”
He and Stacey got married in May 1978, with the director becoming the stepfather to Stacey’s son Jed Weitzman from her first marriage.
The pair went on to welcome daughter Zoe and son Max together.
Elsewhere during their sitdown, Henry opened up about his unexpected love for the outdoors.
“The first time that I went fly fishing … because I’m so dyslexic and I don’t have good eye-hand coordination, I didn’t know if I could do it,” he recalled.
While Henry was initially “intimidated” by the activity — and ended up not being “very good at it” — the hobby has become a “revelation.”
Stacey, notably, often joins her husband on his fishing trips.
Henry also dished during the episode on decades-old tension with Tom Hanks, dating back to his firing from the 1989 film “Turner & Hooch” 13 days into filming.
“I, at that time being insecure, I talked too much and I gave them direction,” he remembered. “I [did] what I thought was my job, and I wanted to do it over again; and apparently that pissed them off.”
