Hilary Swank described her “different” experience welcoming children later in life months before announcing she’s pregnant again at 52.
The actress told Women’s Health magazine in November 2025 that she can “really sink in and be [a] present” and “hands-on parent” to 3-year-old twins Aya and Ohm.
“I’m a very different parent than I would’ve been, even in my early 40s,” she noted last year. “I’m much more patient. I’m much more understanding. I am much more, I think, interested in a different way than I would’ve been.”
The “Million Dollar Baby” star highlighted her “interest in their brains,” saying, “I’m fascinated about what makes them tick.
“And I have my career that’s already established, so I’m not divided,” Swank pointed out.
At the time, the Oscar winner also opened up about freezing her eggs so she could “take some of the pressure off” when starting a family.
She clarified, “I would have had kids earlier. I’m not saying I actively waited until 47. But that was a magical time in my life, when it all culminated. It was the right time for a myriad of reasons.”
On Wednesday, the Golden Globe winner and her husband, Philip Schneider, used glow sticks to share via Instagram that they are expecting baby No. 3.
“A lot of people have been asking what project I’m doing next, this one releases in December. 😉👼🏼🫶🏼,” Swank told her followers.
She was 48 when she and Schneider became parents in April 2023.
“It wasn’t easy. But boy (and girl!) was worth it,” the “Yellowjackets” alum captioned Aya and Ohm’s social media debut.
Swank announced her pregnancy news six months prior, telling “Good Morning America” viewers she’d “been waiting a long time” for motherhood.
Her love story with Schneider began in 2016, with the duo subsequently getting engaged during a trip to Colorado.
They wed in August 2018 in Carmel, California.
Swank was previously married to her “Quiet Days in Hollywood” co-star Chad Lowe between 1997 and 2007.
