Hong Kong tennis star Maggie Ng Man-ying won three titles – the women’s singles, doubles and mixed doubles – at an annual tournament in the city where players helped raise money for charity.
She beat Justine Leong Kwan-tung 6-3, 7-6 (7-0) in the singles final at Gym Aesthetics presents Chinese Recreation Club (CRC) Open last month.
Teaming up with Leong for the first time, Ng also claimed her third successive ladies’ doubles title at the event after defeating Serbian Marina Filipenko and Belarusian Sviatlana Pirazhenka 6-3, 6-2.
She secured the mixed doubles title alongside Argentinian Raul Guardia after a hard-fought 6-4, 6-7 (5-7), (10-3) victory against Leong and Ethan Leung yi-hang.
In the men’s events, French player Arthur Weber claimed the singles title after a comfortable 6-1, 6-2 win over Roger Ng Ki-lung, while Ethan Leung and Andy Lau Chun-hin were crowned doubles champions after defeating Wang Sui-lun and Yu Ching-mou 7-5, 6-3.
This year’s six-week event, which attracted more than 1,800 entrants, was the 76th edition of the tournament hosted by CRC, Hong Kong (CRCHK).
