Claims that a mobile version of Hood Warfare 2 is in the works have caused confusion online as the $5 Steam game continues to go viral.
Back on October 11, the internet was introduced to Hood Warfare 2. The shooter, which borrows a lot from Call of Duty, started going viral as social media users couldn’t quite believe it was real.
The game, which pits players against each other as two rival gangs, only costs $5, but some quickly suggested it was “better” than Call of Duty in some aspects. Others have criticized Trapstar Games’ title for promoting stereotypes, with some even calling it a “psyop” developed by the government.
As it stands, the game is only available on PC, no matter how many calls there have been for it to drop on console. However, there have been claims that a mobile version is in the works.
Hood Warfare 2 mobile game claims cause chaos
On October 14, an X account under the name of Hood Warfare 2 said that a mobile version is “coming next week.”
The account only has a few hundred followers and has drawn skepticism despite having a website linked to it.
Despite operating under the Trapstar Games banner, the developers are relatively anonymous. No names are linked to the game other than Trapstar. That has led to plenty of people jumping on board, claiming they are the real deal.
That skepticism comes in part due to the account promoting crypto tokens while also warning players away from a “memecoin” that bears the Hood Warfare 2 name.
Additionally, an account created in 2023, which actually uses the Trapstar Games name, said that there is “no official account” for the game.
That account has under 70 followers, as of writing, but has promoted the Hood Warfare games since 2023.
There is no Hood Warfare 2 official twitter account or meme coin@HoodWarfare2 is a fake account

“Fake account, report ‘em,” the TrapstarGames account said of the HoodWarfare2 account.
“Prove it then,” another said of the HoodWarfare2 posts. “Brand new X account – yeah, definitely larp” asked said.
Another account claims a developer denied any connection to the X account and crypto token on a Discord server for the game. However, a link for that server could not be located despite it also being mentioned in the game’s Steam listing.
We’ll just have to wait and see what shakes out.
