‘It’s Infuriating’: Megyn Shares the Personal Reason She Took Issue with Joe Biden’s Framing of the Hunter Biden Pardon

Truth

Late Sunday, President Joe Biden did something he and his media allies have promised over and over and over again that he would not do. He pardoned Hunter Biden.

This guy is an abject liar. All he does is lie, and he was in on his son’s crimes. Everyone knew he was going to pardon Hunter. But the left is absolutely shocked. They actually believed this guy when he said, “I will not pardon him.” He said that countless times, most recently in June.

Let’s go through the timeline because the dates actually are important. The pardon dates back to January 2014 just before Hunter Biden joined the board of the Ukrainian energy company Burisma. Hunter had no expertise in energy whatsoever, but his dad was the sitting vice president of the United States. Hunter was pardoned from then until yesterday, December 1, 2024.

Now, why would you have to go back to all that stuff? Because Joe Biden is pardoning himself and not just his son. He wants to make sure that all of those alleged crimes – for which his Department of Justice already gave Hunter a pass – remain untouched. The president, after lighting this match, promptly jetted off to Africa.

The Pardon

President Biden issued an infuriating statement on his decision to pardon his son acting like a bunch of stuff has happened between when he was found guilty by a Delaware jury in June and now that really changes his whole perspective on the situation. But that is simply not true.

Here’s how it started:

“…Without aggravating factors like use in a crime, multiple purchases, or buying a weapon as a straw purchaser, people are almost never brought to trial on felony charges solely for how they filled out a gun form. Those who were late paying their taxes because of serious addictions, but paid them back subsequently with interest and penalties, are typically given non-criminal resolutions. It is clear that Hunter was treated differently…

There has been an effort to break Hunter – who has been five and a half years sober, even in the face of unrelenting attacks and selective prosecution. In trying to break Hunter, they’ve tried to break me – and there’s no reason to believe it will stop here. Enough is enough…”

This is so galling. One of the things that really gets me is how he is trying to make a victim out of Hunter. It is as though anyone else could have lied and said payments on strippers and hookers were tax write-offs and wouldn’t be prosecuted. It was just poor Hunter who had to deal with that apparently, and it was really just his addiction. I guess addicts usually get a pass, and it is only poor Hunter who didn’t.

‘It’s Infuriating’

The audience has heard me talk about this in bits and pieces over the years, but I will just offer this: My own sister got swept up into the opioid crisis. It was not through fault of her own. She needed pain medication after an incident she suffered. They gave her an opioid and specifically told her it was not addictive. She started taking the drug and, sure enough, she got addicted, and then she got really addicted, and then her life went to hell.

We had never had an alcoholic or drug addict in the family, and my poor sister’s life got completely blown up by this addiction to the point where she ultimately – once the family sort of tried to let her have a tough love period where we weren’t helping her out of the jams that she was creating – found herself in the throes of the criminal law.

It was penny-ante stuff, but she did wind up on the wrong side. And you know what she did? She had to get a public defender, and she had to handle the penalty. She didn’t go to jail or anything like that, but it remained a mark on her record. And do you know what that does to a person? You cannot get a job, and no one gives a damn that you were addicted. No one cares about that backstory I just gave to you.

So, f-ck you, Joe Biden, and your sob story about your rich, spoiled presidential kid Hunter Biden and how he has been singled out because I know I speak for millions of people who have an addict in their family who did something they are not proud of and could never get out from under it.

We have no sympathy for you, Hunter Biden, and even less for you, Joe Biden, because you enabled all of it. You were using him to line your own pocket. That is what the emails that said “10 percent for the big guy” and Tony Bobulinski and others suggest. This is one of the many reasons why this whole thing is so irritating.

Biden’s Justification

Just to fill out what this statement from President Biden says, it read:

“…The charges in his cases came about only after several of my political opponents in Congress instigated them to attack me and oppose my election. Then, a carefully negotiated plea deal, agreed to by the Department of Justice, unraveled in the courtroom – with a number of my political opponents in Congress taking credit for bringing political pressure on the process. Had the plea deal held, it would have been a fair, reasonable resolution of Hunter’s cases.

No reasonable person who looks at the facts of Hunter’s cases can reach any other conclusion than Hunter was singled out only because he is my son – and that is wrong…”

No, he was shielded from those charges, which were serious felonies as outlined by those two IRS whistleblowers who came forward. He was shielded because of his name and only when the whistleblowers spoke out and it became very clear what had happened within the DOJ and the IRS was the DOJ forced to bring what was left of the charges because the vast majority of them had been intentionally allowed to expire.

Biden continued:

“…For my entire career I have followed a simple principle: just tell the American people the truth. They’ll be fair-minded. Here’s the truth: I believe in the justice system, but as I have wrestled with this, I also believe raw politics has infected this process and it led to a miscarriage of justice – and once I made this decision this weekend, there was no sense in delaying it further. I hope Americans will understand why a father and a President would come to this decision.”

Nothing has happened between his June statements that he would not pardon Hunter and now to change any of the facts that he is relying on in his statement for why he is doing the pardon. Everything that he is pointing to – the plea deal, the investigations, etc. – happened before Hunter was found guilty in June. There is absolutely no question that it is all a lie, and he doesn’t really care whether people know it or not.

The Fraud

Back in the day, White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre was even more explicit than Joe Biden in talking about how Hunter would not be pardoned. When she was asked overnight during a press gaggle on Air Force One about the reversal, she said, “The president took an action because of how politically infected these cases were.”

A reporter pressed, “The system doesn’t get corrupted by politics for people whose name is not Biden?” She responded, “You’re twisting and misrepresenting what I’m saying. I’m talking about a particular issue right now.”

Another journalist asked, “Does the president believe now and agree with President-elect Trump that the justice system has been weaponized for political purposes and that it needs root and branch reform?” To which Karine Jean-Pierre replied, “No. Read the president’s statement. Seriously, read the president’s statement. He said he believes in the Department of Justice. He does. He says it in his statement. He also believes that war politics infected the process and it led to a miscarriage of justice.”

We don’t know what “war politics” are, but we know she is lying yet again. It’s all part of a big fraud – the one where we were almost defrauded about President Biden’s mental health; then, they tried to defraud us into believing Kamala Harris was a smart person who could handle the obligations of the presidency; and then they tried to defraud us into believing Biden was not going to pardon his son because he respects institutions, norms, and the rule of law, unlike that evil Hitler. So, what changed?
