Woody Johnson is a flat out moron.
The New York Jets owner is always making boneheaded moves, that’s nothing out of the ordinary, but this latest piece of news may take the cake. We’ve already seen him fire head coach Robert Saleh, he recently fired general manager Joe Douglas, and now look at what this idiot tried to do.
According to a report Tuesday from The Athletic, who cited multiple sources, Johnson had brought up the idea of placing their superstar quarterback Aaron Rodgers (yes, that Aaron Rodgers) on the bench and instead putting Tyrod Taylor as the starter. And this was before Saleh’s and Douglas’ firings, coming after Week 4 when they suffered defeat against the Denver Broncos. Following that disaster, Johnson reportedly met with then-head coach Robert Saleh, Douglas, offensive coordinator Nathaniel Hackett and their now former defensive coordinator Jeff Ulbrich. Oh, and you also had team executives involved with this thing. But after informing them of his plan, which stems from his thinking that Rodgers was holding back the Jets, he was quickly shot down and reined in. Johnson listened after he was told that the locker room would be in disarray if he pulled the trigger.
Freaking… Moron…

And now it makes even more sense why the New York Jets are so dysfunctional…
