Jimmy Kimmel has been on vacation since mid-June, which means there was a lot to catch up on during his return to late night.

"Donald Trump and I have one thing in common," the host says in the monologue above. "We both accomplished nothing all summer long."

Kimmel goes on to talk through some of lowlights, from Trump's Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool continuing to look green ("How are we supposed to win the war with Iran when we can't even win the war against algae, for God's sake?") to the president posting about changing the name of New Mexico to "New America" ("Listen, if there was a New America, we would all go there immediately," says Kimmel).

To finish, Kimmel presents a two-minute montage of the weirdest things the president has said while he's been away. As you can probably imagine, there's quite a bit to unpack.
