League of Legends’ popular girl band K/DA has returned with a new song, and fans are already saying the long-awaited comeback was worth the six-year wait.

It’s been a while since we heard from K/DA, LoL’s virtual K-pop band that brings together fan-favorite characters and pairs them with real singers.

The group famously teamed up with Miyeon and Soyeon of I-dle, Madison Beer, and Jaira Burns for their debut single ‘POP/STARS,’ which has since surpassed 668 million YouTube views.

This was then followed up by their 2020 EP ‘All Out,’ but since then fans have been patiently waiting for the band to return. Well, the six-year wait is finally over with the release of ‘Firestarter,’ and there are even some new vocals joining the group.

KD/A returns with new ‘Firestarter’ song

Released on October 19, the ‘Firestarter’ music video has already racked up more than three million YouTube views in just six hours, with fans praising everything from the animation to the singers themselves.

I-dle’s Miyeon and Soyeon reprise their roles as Ahri and Akali, while Sophie Powers and Mimi Webb join as the voices of Evelynn and Kai’Sa.

The music video was also created in partnership with Fortiche, the animation studio behind League of Legends’ critically acclaimed Arcane and K/DA’s original ‘Pop/Stars’ music video.

“They really said, ‘here’s the company card, impress them’. K/DA, you are worth ALL THE waiting,” wrote one commenter. “ANYTHING FORTICHE TOUCHES BECOMES GOLD,” replied another.

Fans also highlighted Miyeon and Soyeon’s performances, celebrating the I-dle members’ return to the virtual group. “Cannot believe this is the quality of work Soyeon and Miyeon put in at a side gig. I-dle fans stay winning,” said one viewer.

“Six years later and K/DA still holds the throne. Miyeon and Soyeon together on a track is always an instant masterpiece. Firestarter is a literal banger,” added another.

Riot’s musical output also prompted one fan to joke: “Riot casually resurrecting all their bands to remind us they are in fact a music production company that makes games on the side.”

Whether ‘Firestarter’ has what it takes to surpass ‘Pop/Stars’ and its 668 million YouTube views remains to be seen, but with more than three million views in its first six hours, K/DA’s comeback is already off to a strong start.
