A Las Vegas jury found Duane “Keffe D” Davis guilty in connection with the 1996 murder of rap legend Tupac Shakur.
The jury deliberated Monday and returned to the courtroom shortly after 4:30 p.m. They found Keffe D guilty of first-degree murder with the use of a deadly weapon, according to KLAS News.

— ABC News (@ABC) September 1, 2026Prosecutors highlighted Davis’ repeated admissions that placed him at the scene of the Sept. 6, 1996, drive-by shooting, including his acknowledgment that he participated in the murder despite not pulling the trigger himself.

The prosecution called Keffe D a “shot caller” in their closing arguments, alleging that he “went hunting” for Shakur. They asserted that Keffe D’s own memoir detailed the shooting and should be considered an admission to the murder, according to CNN.

The verdict comes nearly three decades after one of the most notorious unsolved cases in music history drew worldwide attention, and just two weeks before the 30-year anniversary of Shakur’s passing.
Davis is expected to be sentenced Oct. 13 at 10:30 a.m. in Las Vegas. He faces a maximum of life in prison.
